Pregnancy Ticker

30 & 31 Weeks

This has been a really tough couple of weeks for a couple reasons.  First off, with Adie, she would wedge herself up under my rib and it would be so uncomfortable.  Little guy isn't messing with my ribs (yet!) but gets in this spot right out front on the right side and pushes something or other out so hard and firmly and then it's like it grinds across my entire stomach as he rolls.  It is so extremely sensitive to the touch and he doesn't always move with coaxing :)

Second, I have been a human furnace this past couple weeks.  Granted it's been hot (although today it was a high of like 70...I've never appreciated colder temps so much!), but even with the heat, we've had the air conditioning on and every fan in the house and I am just sweating all the time.  We've had a couple times this week riding in the car when I'll have the air on and windows down, Mark and Adie are freezing and I'm sweating still.  Crazy.

Third, I've been having quite a bit of cramping which hasn't been so fun.  I had just assumed that it's just some ligament pain and that I'm just uncomfortable but we had our appointment with the midwife yesterday and she actually showed a little bit more concern than I guess I had put into it.  She told me that because it's low and crampy rather than all over and tight, it's likely not Braxton Hicks, and could be true contractions so I need to keep an eye on it and try to time them.  At this point they would need to monitor things and stop labor should it get to that point; it's not until 36 weeks that they won't actually stop the labor.  Anyway...my gut tells me it's nothing that serious, but I've been trying to keep an eye on it, although I can't seem to figure out a real pattern to it all.

So...it's been a challenging couple weeks.  I'm trying very hard to just remember to cherish this last bit of time I/we have with just Adie and to enjoy the fact that for the time being, one of them is contained and content!  I'm definitely feeling over the whole pregnancy thing though.  We're getting there...almost!

We've made a good deal of progress on the nursery too - it took several days to get the stripe done since we had to wait for each color to dry, but it's close...

One exciting thing from this couple weeks is that my cousin Jen is throwing us a sprinkle!  I'm so excited!  The thought hadn't even ever crossed my mind but I think it's so cool!  She called and said, "I know people get a little weird about the whole sprinkle thing, but I thought it would be fun and I want to throw one for you - what do you think?!"  I said, "You know me -I'm always up for a party!  If people don't want to come, then they won't come."  So...we're having a sprinkle in a few weeks and I'm thrilled!  We went and registered at Target and took Adie along to help.  She couldn't get the idea of just scanning the items and not needing to put them into the cart :)
