12 weeks and a heartbeat!

Clothes are a struggle. Right now my regular clothes don't fit - pants are too tight, shirts are becoming too short. Maternity clothes don't fit yet either though so I'm in the awkward in-between, feeling really fat instead of feeling pregnant. Again - hopefully just another couple weeks!!
We had our doctor's appointment this week - so exciting! We got to hear the heartbeat- 165 beats per minute and our midwife said that's exactly where she wants to see it. Adie came along with us and got to hear it...still not real inquisitive though. We explained it to her and she just kinda accepted it and that was that!
There have been a couple really precious moments with Adie this week though. She was sitting on the bathroom counter a couple days ago and started out of the blue just saying hi to baby. Then we were in a store today and she said "Mommy, is there a baby in your tummy?" I said yes and she said "Cool dude!!!" I said, "yea, that's your little brother or sister, huh?" and she replied, "no mommy, that's my baby sister in there!!" She's done a 180 from being so certain that it was a boy. It's interesting to think- maybe she's got a little sibling sixth sense or something! :) At lunch today I was cleaning her up standing next to her and she started patting my stomach and said she wanted to say hi to baby. She started talking and then said, "Mommy, my little sister is in there - she's tired, I think she's taking a nap." It warms my heart to have these precious little moments with her because when we bring it up, she lacks much interest, but this just shows she really is processing it all and has a joy about it too.
We're on the way to second trimester - one more week to go. Hopefully with that some energy and nausea relief will come as well as a bump so I can find some clothes to fit! We have our next appointment in 6 weeks after we get back from vacation and then 2 weeks after that we'll be finding out if we'll really have a little sister or a little brother for Adie. We can't wait!!!
